What is a Student Association?
A student association is defined as an organization consisting of students within a specific department or study program who share common goals. It also serves as a coordinating body for student activities. Membership is composed of actively registered students.
As an organization, a student association maintains a formal organizational structure, including a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and several departments. Within the Architecture Study Program at Universitas Mataram, the student association is known as the Architecture Students Association (HMA), which was established on January 18, 2021, for an indefinite period.
Functions of the Student Association
The student association functions as a platform for collaboration among students to achieve shared objectives. Beyond serving as a learning environment, it also plays a vital role in fostering student independence and personal development according to individual potential. Furthermore, it acts as an organizer of student-related activities, particularly those focused on development and creativity.

HMA Logo Philosophy
- The gradient of blue and tosca green symbolizes intelligence, confidence, intuition, and creativity, unified in a harmonious blend.
- The circular elements within the three building forms represent unity and a strong sense of belonging among members, as well as a platform for expressing aspirations as architecture students.
- The three mass compositions symbolize the Tri Dharma of Higher Education: education and teaching, research and development, and community service.
- The futuristic building forms reflect a strong ambition to progress toward a modern and forward-looking future, demonstrating adaptability to evolving times.
- The lower part of the composition forms the letters “H-M-A” representing (Himpunan Mahasiswa Arsitektur) the Architecture Students Association as the foundation supporting the three structures above—symbolizing its role in nurturing future generations who will contribute to the nation.
