Inter-University Collaboration

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Mataram (FT Unram), once again demonstrates its presence as a national hub for academic collaboration. On Monday, February 9, 2026, the Architecture Study Program of FT Unram hosted a Field Study Visit (Kuliah Kerja Lapangan / KKL) from students of the Architecture Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS).

The event, held at the Faculty of Engineering building, commenced with a warm welcome from the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni (WD III) of FT Unram, Mr. Ir. Agustono Setiawan, S.T., M.Sc. In his remarks, he emphasized that this meeting between the two institutions serves as an important opportunity to exchange design perspectives and local wisdom from their respective regions.

In line with this, the Head of the Architecture Study Program at FT Unram, Dr. Ir. Rini S. Saptaningtyas, ST., M.Sc., IPM, ASEAN Eng., expressed her appreciation for Universitas Mataram being selected as a benchmarking destination. A reciprocal message of appreciation was also delivered by the representative of the Architecture Study Program at UMS, Ms. Fadhilla Tri Nugrahaini, ST., M.Sc., who conveyed her hope that the visit would enrich UMS students’ understanding of architectural practices in the West Nusa Tenggara region.

A key highlight of the event was the signing of the Implementation Agreement (IA), accompanied by a plaque exchange ceremony as a symbol of a sustained collaborative commitment between the two institutions. This initiative ensures that the collaboration extends beyond a single visit and continues through future academic programs.

The series of activities concluded with an exhibition of architectural student works and a campus tour around Universitas Mataram. The visiting students were given the opportunity to explore studio facilities, laboratories, and the distinctive architectural features of FT Unram. Through this engagement, it is expected that a strong professional network will be established among future architects from Mataram and Surakarta.
